About Miss Lima
Hello Parents and Students!
I could not tell you all enough times how exciting this school year will be with our fourth graders! I know that we are going to have an exciting time full of exploration, opportunity, fun, and focus! We will have the opportunity to get to know each other throughout the year, but I wanted to start off with a bit about myself and what I have been up to.
Once a Wildcat, Always a Wildcat!
I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University. I was also studying Music and Italian while at school! In my previous teaching experiences, I have always worked with upper grades ranging from 3rd-5th. This is my 4th year at Ivy Hall teaching in 4th Grade. You, 4th Graders, are my perfect fit as I hope I am for you!
"Do or Die", a phrase that is quite important to me. That short phrase was instilled in me regarding courage and a hard work ethic as I was a member of a collegiate circus for four years at ISU. That organization taught me about leadership, confidence, and facing challenges. I continue to keep active with CrossFit, allowing me to use my gymnastics and martial arts background to set goals to improve myself mentally and physically. I additionally have coached gymnastics from a young age as a former gymnast myself. I grew up with both martial arts (TaeKwonDo and Kung Fu) as well as gymnastics, but also was a musician and learned piano and violin from a young age.
I grew up in my hometown of Naperville, a Southwest suburb of Chicago and now live in Wheaton, IL. This is the third school I've been a part of as a 'Wildcat' and I couldn't be happier to wear my wildcat with pride once again.
I absolutely love Ivy Hall, especially the atmosphere and nurturing environment. We have the friendliest and most helpful faculty and staff. I will be sure to share some more fun facts with each other so that I can get to know each of you throughout this year.
